Beijing buzzed on Monday as the 2025 SCO Forum on People-to-People Exchange kicked off, co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the SCO Secretariat 🌟. Over 100 guests – from political leaders to media stars – gathered to celebrate cultural cooperation and the famous Shanghai Spirit.
From big names like Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to media reps across the region, the vibes were electric. Japarov cheered the forum as a true showcase of the Shanghai Spirit and looks forward to deeper ties during Kyrgyzstan’s SCO presidency. Sharif praised CMG’s objective and inclusive storytelling approach in today’s complex world.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of CMG, highlighted the SCO as the world’s most diverse regional group and underscored the mission to share stories of innovation and cooperation across the Chinese mainland and beyond 🤝.
Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev announced upcoming cooperation pacts and fresh initiatives between the SCO Secretariat and CMG, inviting media outlets from member, observer, and dialogue partner states to jump in.
In a video message, Oleg Dobrodeyev, President of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, stressed that trust, respect, and equality are the cornerstone of SCO media collaboration 📺✌️.
One highlight? CGTN’s new media journey called China Up Close · A Journey of Harmony, where 42 journalists explored the Chinese mainland’s Tianjin, Shaanxi, and Shandong. And for the young at heart, an integrated program invited SCO youth to share personal stories of exchange – three inspiring representatives voiced their deep ties to the Chinese mainland and the spirit of friendship 🌏✨.
As the forum wrapped up, one thing was clear: the SCO’s people-to-people network is stronger than ever, fueled by storytelling, youth energy, and a shared vision of openness. Stay tuned for more cross-cultural adventures!
