China-Africa Seminar in Addis Ababa Champions Development with Dignity

Imagine walking into a grand hall in Addis Ababa buzzing with energy: over 200 policymakers, scholars, diplomats and media reps from the Chinese mainland and Africa have come together for a groundbreaking seminar. The First China-Africa Human Rights Seminar, held on Friday, tackled a big question: How can we guarantee the right to development for everyone?

Under the theme "Building the China-Africa Community with a Shared Future and Working Together to Realize the Right to Development," delegates dove into lively discussions and shared insights. 🌍✨

In a highlight of the day, Jiang Jianguo, executive vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies and member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, pointed out that development is an eternal theme of human society. He shared how the Communist Party of China has made improving people’s livelihoods its top priority and how historic achievements on the human rights front prove that protecting rights during development is the key to modernization and a happier life for all.

"The people of the Chinese mainland and Africa both cherish peace and development," Jiang said. "We've stood together through thick and thin to pursue human dignity and value." 🤝💡

As the seminar wrapped up, attendees left inspired by fresh ideas and a renewed commitment to building a future where development and human rights go hand in hand. It’s a powerful reminder that when regions unite around shared goals, real progress is possible.
