Ethiopia Forum Unpacks Xi Jinping’s Human Rights Vision

Addis Ababa turned into a hub for human rights chat on Thursday, as hundreds of readers, students, and experts gathered to dive into “Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights” 📖🌍.

Jiang Jianguo, executive vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, kicked things off by highlighting that the book is now available in 13 languages, winning fans across think tanks, media outlets, and campuses worldwide.

From Xi’s deep care for the people to the Communist Party of China’s century-long commitment, the forum painted a picture of China’s unique path to human rights. Jiang shared how this approach could spark new ideas for African nations on:

  • Modernization and governance 🏙️
  • Human rights frameworks ⚖️
  • Boosting well-being for all 🤝

Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Chen Hai chimed in, noting that China and Africa both champion a people-centered approach and reject politicizing human rights. He described the partnership as a beacon for the global human rights movement.

For his part, Liberia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeddi Mowbray Armah added that each country must carve its own path to justice and equality, drawing on history, culture, and development stage. His message struck a chord, especially among Global South nations seeking dignity and fairness.

About 150 representatives—from political leaders and academics to media pros and students— joined the event, turning Addis Ababa into a melting pot of ideas and inspiration. It was a reminder that when voices come together, real change can ripple across continents 🌟.
