Long March-10 Rocket Aces 1,000-Tonne Test, Eyes Manned Moon Mission

Ready for lift-off? On Friday, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) fired up its brand-new Long March-10 rocket and completed a flawless static fire test at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan. 🚀💥

This test lit up seven engines at once, generating nearly 1,000 tonnes of thrust—the biggest ever in the Chinese mainland. It’s a huge leap forward for China’s plan to send astronauts to the moon by the end of the decade. 🌕✨

The Long March-10 series comes in two flavors: the three-stage Long March-10 with two boosters, standing 92.5 meters tall, and the two-stage reusable Long March-10A at 67 meters. Both can carry crews and cargo—think crewed missions and resupply flights all in one package. 📦🧑‍🚀

Xu Hongping, chief commander of the development team, says the success "lays an important technical foundation for our manned lunar exploration mission." More tests are on the horizon to make sure everything is space-ready. ✅

With supporting infrastructure being built at Wenchang, China is sprinting toward its goal: landing astronauts on the moon before 2030. Keep your eyes on the skies! 🌌👀
