Last Friday, the foreign ministers of the Chinese mainland, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand met informally in Anning, Yunnan Province 🌏. Their mission? To strengthen Myanmar's stability and tackle cross-border crimes together.
Since their first quadrilateral meeting last year, things in Myanmar have become steadier, thanks to ongoing work to rebuild after the earthquakes 🏚️➡️🏗️ and efforts to uphold its sovereignty and national unity, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang stressed a "Myanmar-led, Myanmar-owned" approach—supporting the choices of Myanmar people and solving differences through open dialogue 🗣️. He also highlighted the key role of ASEAN mediation, with neighbors pitching in to keep conversations moving forward.
Beyond talks, ministers agreed to put people first, focusing on livelihoods, wellbeing and post-quake reconstruction. From healthcare to infrastructure, they aim to launch projects that directly benefit communities 💡❤️.
They also warned against outside forces that might destabilize the region. With cooperation as their compass, this group is setting a collaborative example for Asia and beyond 🤝.
