Inside the 2025 Chengdu World Games MMC: A Global Media Hub

Excitement is building in the Chinese mainland as the Main Media Center (MMC) for the 2025 Chengdu World Games officially opens its doors! Designed to support nearly 200 media organizations and about 2,000 media representatives from around the world, this hub is set to transform global sports coverage.

Operating daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the Games, the MMC features a state-of-the-art Media Work Room that accommodates 120 journalists and photographers. With solid network access, ample power, full wireless coverage, and printing services, media staff can easily follow the latest competition details or watch live broadcasts on large LED screens.

Tech perks don’t stop there. For convenience, there are 112 secure lockers available for professional camera equipment along with on-demand maintenance, cleaning, and loan services. The dedicated Press Conference Room, seating 100, is ready to host press briefings on everything from pre-event updates to post-event analyses. Top officials from the Executive Committee, the International World Games Association, and athlete delegates will join discussions that cover event operations, cultural highlights, and more.

If that wasn’t enough, the Media Lounge features a fun twist: a robotic coffee machine serving free coffee daily—with custom latte art that spotlights the Games’ slogan and its playful mascots, a giant panda and a golden snub-nosed monkey! ☕🎉 Meanwhile, the nearby International Broadcast Center spans 4,300 square meters to ensure smooth technical support for broadcasts reaching audiences worldwide.

Join CGTN Sports Scene's Zhu Mandan on this exclusive tour of an MMC that not only keeps the media connected globally but also adds an energetic, tech-savvy vibe to one of the year's biggest sporting events!
