A dynamic forum in Beijing brought together over 50 experts and scholars from nearly 20 universities and research institutions in China and Japan to boost people-to-people exchanges and foster stronger cultural understanding 🤝🌏.
Co-hosted by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the Japan-China Friendship Center, the event featured engaging discussions on high-quality development, modernization, social governance from comparative perspectives, and the challenges of global transformation. It was all about exploring how deep cultural ties can pave the way toward lasting peace and development.
Xie Fuzhan highlighted that objective understanding and active cultural exchange are key to shaping better relations. Japanese ambassador Kenji Kanasugi noted that improving public sentiment through long-term dialogue is the biggest challenge. Meanwhile, Cheng Yonghua stressed the importance of learning from history and looking toward the future with a commitment to shared principles, and Miyamoto Yuji advocated for stronger academic and people-to-people interactions in these transformative times.
In his closing remarks, Zhou Shuchun celebrated the deep-rooted tradition of friendship between the two nations, offering renewed hope for enhanced cooperation. The forum, which was launched in 2024 and is held alternately in both countries, marks a promising step towards a more peaceful, interconnected future.
