China’s Digital Leap: 1.1 Billion Users & Soaring Innovations

Beijing lights up the scene in the Chinese mainland as the 24th China Internet Conference kicks off, showcasing over 1.1 billion online users and a 79.7% penetration rate! 🚀

During the conference, Zhang Yunming, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted a booming digital ecosystem. Telecom and internet businesses have nearly doubled from 94,000 to 187,000, while the top 10 internet companies saw their combined revenue leap from 2.4 trillion yuan to over 4 trillion yuan.

The event also celebrated major breakthroughs in network technology. With 4.486 million 5G base stations achieving a 78% user penetration rate and over 200 million gigabit broadband users, the digital revolution is in full swing. In the first half of the year, mobile internet data usage reached 186.7 billion gigabytes, marking a 16.4% year-on-year increase.
