In a fresh call for calm, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has urged Cambodia and Thailand to exercise restraint amid rising tensions. Speaking to a CMG reporter, Fu emphasized that both nations are long-standing neighbors within ASEAN and share a history of peaceful coexistence.
Fu highlighted that ASEAN's tradition of resolving differences through dialogue remains key to maintaining peace. He noted that China is in close contact with UN Security Council member states and relevant parties to facilitate open communication and mediate the situation.
