China: US Fentanyl Tariffs Hurt Anti-Drug Cooperation

In a recent press briefing, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, voiced concerns over the U.S. decision to impose "fentanyl tariffs." According to Lin, this move seriously disrupts the dialogue and cooperation essential for tackling drug-related challenges.

Lin Jian underscored that China has repeatedly noted that the complications surrounding fentanyl primarily belong to the U.S. side. He warned that insisting on these tariffs not only undermines bilateral anti-drug efforts but also jeopardizes interests that could benefit both sides.

Emphasizing the need for genuine dialogue, Lin urged the U.S. to acknowledge objective facts and engage with China on an equal, respectful, and mutually beneficial basis. If the U.S. truly intends to cooperate in the anti-drug fight, he hinted, it must first look inward and address its own challenges. 🤝

This development highlights how policy decisions in one country can ripple across international cooperation in tackling global issues. Stay tuned as we follow more updates on this evolving story. 🌏
