Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a key member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met with Tajikistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, in Tianjin on Wednesday. The meeting focused on enhancing connectivity and deepening practical cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Tajikistan.

The discussions emphasized implementing the inter-governmental economic and trade cooperation plan and expanding ties in sectors such as investment, energy, counter-terrorism, and security. Both sides highlighted the importance of advancing high-level exchanges in preparation for a historic Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Tianjin summit.

Wang Yi stressed that the Chinese mainland is committed to supporting Tajikistan in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions. In response, Muhriddin affirmed Tajikistan's full support and eagerness to utilize bilateral cooperation mechanisms to boost areas like medicine, education, and digital technology.
