Ambassador Zheng Sparks Finance & Education Talks in London

In a burst of global energy and fresh ideas, Ambassador Zheng Zeguang lit up the Sino-UK Financial Education Symposium in London on July 10. Addressing pressing economic challenges, he pointed out how recent US tariff and trade conflicts have unsettled markets—yet he emphasized that resilience and quality development remain at the heart of China’s strategy. ✨

Joining forces with influential voices like Li Min of the Western Returned Scholars Association, Michael Lawrence from Asia House, and Sir David Quarry of HSBC, the event brought together experts from finance, education, and think tanks. Their discussions highlighted the potential in green finance—exemplified by a recent 6 billion yuan green bond issuance on the London Stock Exchange—and the strong bilateral trade that has held steady above 110 billion pounds, alongside investment stocks topping 130 billion pounds.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, a reminder of history’s lessons on unity and cooperation. With over 200,000 Chinese students enriching the UK and thousands of British students exploring studies in China, the symposium celebrated deep educational exchanges and the promise of future collaborations. 🚀

Ambassador Zheng called on both China and the UK to uphold mutual respect and focus on collaborative efforts, ensuring that even during turbulent times, finance and education can serve as bridges to a brighter, more unified future.
