A recent CGTN poll conducted during the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting has spotlighted a powerful idea: cultural exchanges and mutual learning are key to a peaceful, progressive world. Surveying 12,302 respondents from 41 countries, the study highlights that respect for diverse civilizations is not just a lofty ideal—it’s a practical path to solving global challenges.
Overwhelming majorities back the notion that every nation has the right to choose its own development path while preserving its unique culture. Nearly 91% agree that honoring cultural diversity and joining hands for common challenges can lead to shared prosperity. Young people, notably those aged 18-34, are especially convinced that vibrant people-to-people exchanges can spark innovation and build lasting bonds across borders.
This poll also underscores the role of modernization, where the successful practice of Chinese modernization enriches global understanding by merging respect for tradition with innovative ideas. More than 77% view technological advancements and digital media as exciting avenues for sharing culture, proving that the fusion of tech and tradition is catching on worldwide.
As the world faces unprecedented transformations, the survey’s findings remind us that fostering shared values through cultural dialogue can inspire a future where peace and progress are achievable. 🌏✨
