BRICS Vanguard: Reforming Global Governance

At the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a stirring message: BRICS nations should become the vanguard in global governance reform. 🚀 Amid unprecedented changes, traditional rules are being challenged and multilateral institutions are losing ground.

During the plenary session on "Peace and Security and Reform of Global Governance," Li called on leaders to safeguard world peace and resolve disputes peacefully through extensive consultation, mutual respect, and solidarity. The meeting, chaired by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, saw top leaders agreeing that innovation and self-reliance are key to addressing today’s complexities.

Li emphasized a vision inspired by Chinese President Xi Jinping – a model based on joint contribution and shared benefits. He noted that with deepening conflicts and intertwined common interests, now is the time for unity and practical solutions. He highlighted new initiatives, including the establishment of a China-BRICS research center on new quality productive forces and a scholarship program aimed at cultivating talent in pivotal sectors like industry and telecommunications. 🎓🤝

As BRICS positions itself as a leading force from the Global South, Li urged its members to champion inclusiveness and the harmonious coexistence of diverse civilizations. The summit rounded off with the adoption of the Rio de Janeiro Declaration – a document encapsulating their collective vision for a just, efficient, and orderly global governance system.

This dynamic push for reform aims to inspire lasting peace and sustainable economic growth in an ever-changing world. 🌏✨
