Peru’s Pontifical Catholic University (PUCP) was buzzing with excitement as the third China-Latin America Cultural Tour Exhibition kicked off on Monday. With an audience of around 150 curious attendees, the event blended tradition and modern flair to create a truly immersive cultural experience.

Visitors explored over 500 Chinese books—from themed titles and language textbooks to traditional volumes and children’s picture books—along with more than 100 creative products that carry a modern Chinese twist.

A representative from the Bureau of International Communication under China’s State Council Information Office explained that the curated collection highlights Chinese development insights and the growing global interest among Generation Z in learning Chinese. Counselor Zhao Xiaoming from the Chinese Embassy in Peru noted that both China and Peru, as ancient civilizations, share a strong foundation for cultural cooperation.
Maribel Temoche Cortez from the Confucius Institute at PUCP observed that the carefully selected books and products offer a unique window into the charm and wisdom of Chinese culture. With enthusiastic responses from students and local residents alike, this exhibition is a vibrant meeting point of tradition and modern creativity.
