In a delightful turn of events, the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda has welcomed the first giant panda cub of 2025 at its Shenshuping Base, nestled in the southwest of the Chinese mainland's Sichuan Province.

The newborn arrived at 11:50 p.m. on June 21, born to Linglang, a seven-year-old first-time mother, following a successful natural mating with male panda Yaxing in early March. Wu Honglin, deputy director of the base, remarked, "Seven-year-old Linglang demonstrated strong maternal instincts. She adeptly cradles, protects, and grooms her cub."
