Alexander’s Accordion Odyssey: A 40-Year Musical Journey

Meet Alexander Zazulin, a passionate music maestro from Xinjiang in the Chinese mainland, whose life has been intertwined with accordions since childhood. 🎶

From mastering the art of playing, repairing, and collecting accordions, Alexander opened his repair shop in 1991. Over 40 years, he has built an impressive collection of over 800 accordions from more than 20 countries.

With support from the local government, Alexander brought his dream to life by establishing the Alexander Accordion Museum on Liuxing Street in Yining. Spanning over 1,200 square meters, the museum is a treasure trove where every accordion tells its own unique story, echoing decades of musical heritage. It's like a vintage mixtape connecting the past with the digital present! 🎵

In 2013, he was honored as an intangible cultural heritage inheritor for preserving the Bayan accordion tradition of the Russian ethnic group in Xinjiang. This recognition highlights his dedication to cultural preservation and artistic expression.

Alexander's journey is a vibrant reminder that music transcends time and borders, uniting us in a shared rhythm of creativity and history. Dive into his world and let the magical notes inspire you!
