Envoy Urges End to Unilateral Coercion for Global Unity

At the UN General Assembly, Chinese envoy Fu Cong delivered a dynamic call to end unilateral coercive measures. He argued that actions like financial embargoes and trade restrictions undermine international law and the spirit of multilateralism, disrupting global cooperation. 🚀

Fu stressed these measures put one country’s domestic laws above international standards, ignore the Security Council's collective decision-making, and harm basic human rights—from life and health to sustainable development. 💡

Criticizing the use of such measures under the guise of protecting human rights, he urged those employing them to lift these restrictions immediately and unconditionally. This appeal aims to stop deepening humanitarian challenges and to promote a fair, united global order.

The debate culminated in the UN General Assembly adopting a resolution to designate December 4 as the International Day Against Unilateral Coercive Measures, symbolizing a commitment to uphold a rules-based international system and foster shared peace and prosperity. 🌍
