Wang Huning Calls for Unity Across Taiwan Straits

At the 17th Straits Forum in Xiamen, Wang Huning—a top political advisor from the Chinese mainland—dropped a powerful message for unity and peace across the Taiwan Straits. His speech resonated with many, urging compatriots on both sides to embrace a shared history, protect Chinese culture, and push forward with national rejuvenation.

Wang highlighted that 2025 marks a historic milestone: the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's recovery. This dual remembrance calls on everyone, especially the youth, to remember the past and work hand in hand for a bright future.

Emphasizing the importance of the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, he called for a firm stand against any separatist activities and external interference. Ma Ying-jeou, former Kuomintang chairman, joined in the discussion, advocating for deeper exchanges and cooperation as the key to lasting peace.

With over 7,000 participants from Taiwan at this year's forum, the event underscored how cross-Straits integration is more than a talk—it’s about building a united front for peace, progress, and pride. 🕊️✨
