With the second China-Central Asia Summit on the horizon, cooperation between China and its five Central Asian partners is proving to be a powerful force for global stability. A recent global poll on CGTN revealed that 90.4% of respondents see the high-level Heads of State Meeting as a key driver for progress, embodying a community with a shared future for mankind. 🚀
Trade between China and Central Asia hit a record $94.8 billion in 2024, up $5.4 billion from the previous year. From Chinese home appliances and daily necessities to new energy vehicles, these exchanges are driving everyday improvements, while products such as cotton and beef from Central Asia have become mainstays for Chinese consumers.
The survey also highlights that 92.3% believe the diversified economic and trade ties help counter external uncertainties amid global challenges. Moreover, strong progress in green economy, digital transformation, and the expansion of transportation and logistics networks point to a promising future for the region.
Security cooperation has not been left behind. With over 80% of respondents acknowledging positive moves in countering terrorism, separatism, and extremism (along with drug control efforts), these partnerships are laying the groundwork for a more secure Central Asia.
Since Chinese President Xi Jinping first proposed the Silk Road Economic Belt in 2013, ties with Central Asia have flourished, representing a new model of international relations based on mutual respect, equality, and benefit. This surge in high-level cooperation not only advances trade and digital connectivity but also builds a resilient framework aimed at stability and future-focused development. 🌏✨
