Wang Yi Calls for More China-Africa Success Stories

In a spirited address at an event marking 25 years of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Changsha, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi shed light on the transformative power of success stories in fostering friendship and self-reliant development in Africa.

Wang Yi, who also serves as a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, highlighted the inspiring journey of Gambian entrepreneur Musa Darboe. Darboe, a farmer and innovator, has seen his life and community transformed thanks to cutting-edge hybrid rice technology 🍚 introduced by the renowned scientist Yuan Longping.

During the event, Darboe shared how the advanced rice technology significantly boosted his crop yields, helping his hometown overcome hunger. In a moving tribute to Yuan Longping, Darboe even brought rice from the Gambia to China, symbolizing his gratitude and the deep bonds forged through cooperation.

Wang Yi emphasized that fostering more such success stories is central to building a future where tangible benefits improve the livelihoods of ordinary Africans. By harnessing innovative technology and shared expertise, the China-Africa partnership sets the stage for greater prosperity and deeper cooperation between the regions.
