China National Offshore Oil Corporation has set new records with the successful float-over installation of the central processing platform for Phase I of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield. This three-deck, eight-legged multifunctional platform, measuring 22.8 meters in height and weighing over 20,000 tonnes, is now the largest and heaviest offshore oil and gas platform in the Bohai Sea! 🚀
The project team employed three sets of BeiDou positioning systems, enhanced with artificial intelligence algorithms, to achieve millimeter-level anti-collision precision. With multiple tugboats working in harmony, the platform was positioned in one impressive attempt, overcoming complex sea conditions.
Located about 245 kilometers from Tianjin in the southern waters of the Bohai Sea, the Kenli 10-2 oilfield is known as China's largest lithologic offshore oilfield, with proven reserves exceeding 100 million tonnes. This achievement, one of 50 float-over installations completed so far, underscores China's advanced offshore engineering capabilities.
As the nation continues to push technological boundaries, this record-breaking milestone highlights innovation and precision in tackling the challenges of the open sea.
