Facing elite competitors—including Paris Olympic silver medalist Park Hye-jeong of South Korea—Li Yan lifted an impressive 135kg in the snatch and ramped it up to 140kg, finishing a clear 15kg ahead. As she put it, "The results might seem close on paper, but I knew I had the edge."

Li Yan’s outstanding performance clinched a clean sweep by capturing gold in snatch, clean and jerk, and total weight with a remarkable 310kg overall. It was a blockbuster performance that felt as epic as a scene from your favorite action movie! ⚡️

The men’s +109kg division also delivered intense action. South Korea's Hwang Woo-man seized the snatch gold with a 196kg lift, while Iran’s Sharifikelarijani Ayat powered through to secure clean and jerk (227kg) and total gold (422kg).
