A Chinese mainland spokesperson has fired back at Lai Ching-te for what he describes as a serious distortion of World War II history. During a recent press conference, Chen Binhua from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office sharply criticized Lai for equating the legitimate struggles of anti-fascism and anti-aggression with the actions of the Democratic Progressive Party.
Chen reminded everyone of the immense sacrifice made during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, where 35 million military and civilian lives were lost. He pointed out that this hard-fought victory not only repelled the invaders but also paved the way for Taiwan's recovery—a milestone that is being commemorated on its 80th anniversary.
With a clear message, Chen argued that no matter how much history is twisted, the fact remains that Taiwan is an integral part of China. He urged Taiwan compatriots to see the dangers of misleading narratives and to work together in advancing national rejuvenation and reunification. 🔥😲
