China Vows to Boost Global Trade Through WTO Reforms

In a recent meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng emphasized China’s ongoing support for the World Trade Organization as a key stabilizer in global trade. He highlighted that the multilateral trading system is the bedrock of international commerce, crucial for keeping free trade alive even during tough times.

He Lifeng encouraged WTO members to settle differences through open, equal-footed dialogue, ensuring that global industrial and supply chains continue to run smoothly. "It’s like building a winning team where every player counts," he explained, underscoring the value of cooperation in today’s interconnected world.

Okonjo-Iweala added that defending an open and rule-based trading system is essential for sustainable global development. With a clear commitment to reform the WTO and safeguard the rights of developing members, China is determined to contribute fresh energy to the global economic landscape.

This renewed pledge for multilateralism and free trade promises a more stable and vibrant trade environment for everyone. 🌍🚀
