Guoan’s Comeback: 2-1 Win Keeps Undefeated Streak Alive

In a thrilling clash in Shanghai on Thursday, Beijing Guoan pulled off a dramatic 2-1 away win against Shanghai Port, keeping their unbeaten run intact after nine games and leapfrogging the two-time defending champions in the Chinese Super League.

The match kicked off with early tension as an injury forced captain Wang Gang to be replaced by Wu Shaocong in the 22nd minute. Shanghai Port initially grabbed the lead in the 40th minute when Liu Ruofan headed in Mateus Vital’s corner. However, the home side’s advantage was short-lived. Within 120 seconds, Dawhan delivered a precise long pass to Lin Liangming, whose close-range effort was denied by Port goalkeeper Yan Junling, only for Fabio Abreu to tap in the rebound to level the score.

As the game progressed, Yan appeared to have injured himself and was substituted by Chen Wei after halftime. The turning point came 10 minutes into the second half when Lin Liangming broke into the box and fired a powerful shot into the top corner, giving Guoan the decisive lead. Despite additional chances and a near miss in stoppage time when Zhang Fanlin’s header was parried away by Guoan goalkeeper Hou Sen, Shanghai Port could not equalize.

This victory not only highlights Guoan's resilience but also repositions them in the CSL standings, making it a memorable match for football enthusiasts and young fans alike ⚽🔥.
