BMW Teams with DeepSeek to Elevate In-Car AI at Shanghai Auto Show

At the Shanghai Auto Show, BMW revealed an exciting leap in vehicle tech 🚗. In a bold partnership with Chinese AI firm DeepSeek, BMW is rolling out a cutting-edge in-car system that goes beyond basic commands.

Integrated into BMW's ninth-generation operating system, the new technology—set to launch this September on the Chinese mainland—will debut on models such as the 5 Series long-wheelbase, electric i5, and the updated X3 SUV.

Using advanced language processing, the system can understand relaxed, everyday speech like "Let's go splurge downtown" and even simplify complex queries about topics like black holes, making driving both smart and engaging.

Moreover, the innovative interface features emotional recognition, adapting its responses based on the driver's mood for a more natural conversation. BMW Group Chairman Oliver Zipse emphasized that by tapping into AI tools from DeepSeek and partners like Alibaba, the automaker is moving beyond transactional commands to create a dialogue-like interaction with its drivers.

This development marks another stride in merging technology with mobility, setting the pace for future automotive innovation on the Chinese mainland.
