8th Digital China Summit Sparks Data Economy & Cutting-Edge Tech in Fuzhou

Fuzhou, a vibrant city in the southeast of the Chinese mainland's Fujian Province, is set to host the 8th Digital China Summit from April 29 to 30. This annual event is a melting pot of digital innovation, bringing together tech enthusiasts, business pioneers, and policy makers to explore a new era of digital transformation. 🚀

The summit aims to tackle challenges in data utilization and unlock market-driven value by releasing a series of new policy documents on digital China development, including a comprehensive survey of national data resources. As Liu Liehong, head of the National Data Administration, explained at a recent State Council Information Office press conference, these initiatives will pave the way for future digital breakthroughs.

Staggering statistics back the momentum: the Chinese mainland's digital industry generated 35 trillion yuan (around $4.9 trillion) in revenue in 2024, with profits reaching 2.7 trillion yuan. With over 300 professional institutions participating—more than 75% of which are companies and over 50% private enterprises—the event promises to be larger and more impactful than ever before.

Attendees can look forward to more than 100 dynamic activities covering digital transformation, data applications, and industrial cluster development. A major highlight is the unprecedented showcase of cutting-edge technologies; over 65% of the products will be making their debut. Expect to see smart robots, advanced drones, brain-like computing, and large multi-modal language models take center stage. 🤖

Beyond tech displays, the summit will offer immersive digital experiences, featuring interactive humanoid robot greeters, engaging robot dog performances, and explorations of Fuzhou's historical cultural sites like Sanfangqixiang—where traditional charm meets modern innovation.

As the digital economy continues to drive growth on the Chinese mainland—contributing around 10% to the GDP in 2024—the 8th Digital China Summit is not just an exhibition, but a clear glimpse into a future powered by technology and international cooperation. This event is set to inspire young minds and global travelers eager for a taste of tomorrow's world.
