Xizang’s Bold Eco Journey Inspires a Greener Future

Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region continues its unwavering commitment to eco-environmental conservation. A recent white paper titled "Human Rights in Xizang in the New Era" outlines how protecting the unique ecology of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is seen as one of the greatest contributions to a sustainable future.

With 47 nature reserves covering 412,200 square kilometers, Xizang is celebrated for its healthy environment and rich biodiversity. Since 2016, over 99% of the days have enjoyed excellent or good air quality, reflecting the region's dedication to continuous eco-environmental monitoring 💡.

Massive greening projects have transformed both urban and rural areas. Initiatives such as a rural greening action—with more than 10.31 million trees planted across thousands of villages—and afforestation projects in the mountains around Lhasa, which have resulted in 10.58 million mu of new forests, are boosting local green spaces and quality of life.

Between 2018 and 2024, 95.4 billion yuan was allocated in subsidies and rewards for ecological protection. Impressively, from 2016 to 2024, an average of 516,000 jobs was created annually in the eco-environment sector, highlighting how environmental conservation and community development can go hand-in-hand 🌲.

This inspiring green revolution in Xizang shows that when nature is prioritized, modern development thrives. It’s a bold reminder for everyone that caring for our planet leads to a brighter, more sustainable future. Stay tuned for more innovative stories on environmental action and regional progress!
