Rising Star Yang Liuyue Clinches Two Golds at National Weightlifting

In an electrifying showdown at the Chinese Women's Weightlifting National Championships, 18-year-old rising star Yang Liuyue dazzled a supportive home crowd in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Facing 20-year-old Li Shuang from Chongqing Municipality, the 64kg division turned into a thrilling head-to-head battle.

The contest kicked off with Li opening at 104kg in the snatch. Not to be outdone, Yang lifted one kilogram more, setting the tone for a record-breaking performance. In her second attempt, she hoisted 110kg, matching a domestic junior record and clinching the snatch title after both athletes faltered at 112kg.

The clean and jerk round saw both competitors starting strong with 110kg. Yang then surged ahead with an impressive 130kg, whereas Li’s attempts at 135kg fell short. Although Zhejiang's Liu Meishi claimed the clean and jerk title with 131kg, Yang’s overall total of 240kg secured her gold, edging out Li’s 237kg. 💪
