Since the normalization of diplomatic relations, bilateral trade between China and Japan has surged over 300 times, consistently reaching a high mark of $300 billion for 15 consecutive years, while cumulative two-way investment has neared $140 billion. This impressive track record underlines the deep industrial collaboration and economic integration that benefits the people on both sides.

Amid global challenges such as rising protectionism and economic headwinds, Wang Yi called on both nations to support each other rather than to divide, advocating for innovative thinking and responsible policies. He urged the acceleration of market access, the elimination of discriminatory restrictions, and the use of established mechanisms like the China-Japan economic partnership consultation to foster better government-enterprise communication.

Looking ahead, the dialogue also touched on resuming negotiations for the China-Japan-ROK Free Trade Agreement, implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership with high quality, and advancing efforts toward a Free Trade Area in the Asia-Pacific. This forward-thinking discussion, covering macro policies, digital economy, green development, and cultural exchanges, paves the way for a future of dynamic and mutually beneficial cooperation. 🚀🤝
