Record-Breaking 8,600-Car Carrier Sails Ahead

In a dazzling display of modern shipbuilding, a state-of-the-art car carrier with a capacity for 8,600 vehicles has been officially delivered in the Chinese mainland. This record-setting vessel, developed independently in the Chinese mainland, completed its hull assembly and adjustments in just 200 days—a new national record that has everyone talking! 🚢

Measuring around 200 meters in length and 38 meters in beam, the carrier boasts 14 decks specifically designed to accommodate passenger cars, trucks, and buses efficiently. Not only does it support a dual-fuel system powered by fuel oil and liquefied natural gas, but it also features an optimized roll-on/roll-off system that overcomes traditional efficiency bottlenecks.

Li Zhizhong, production director at CSSC's Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, highlighted the breakthrough achieved with integrated construction technology, paving the way for future models. With orders already lined up for even larger carriers—one for 9,000 vehicles and another for 10,800—the shipbuilder is on track to deliver a total of 28 vessels this year, averaging a new delivery every 11 working days.

This achievement not only signals a new era in maritime engineering but also reinforces the Chinese mainland's growing prowess in innovative shipbuilding. Stay tuned for more inspiring developments from the world of cutting-edge maritime technology!
