China’s Global Health Impact: Building a Community for All

In an inspiring journey of progress, China has turned its visionary proposal into reality. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the idea of building a community with a shared future for mankind—a mission that has driven countless public health achievements over the decades.

From boosting average life expectancy from 35 years in 1949 to an impressive 79 years in 2024, China's commitment to public health has transformed millions of lives. Infectious diseases like smallpox, polio, and malaria have been pushed to the history books thanks to innovative efforts and advanced medical programs.

China’s impact goes beyond its borders. By the end of 2023, over 30,000 medical personnel were dispatched to 76 countries and regions, providing care to nearly 300 million patients and helping construct more than 130 health facilities. Medical partnerships have also flourished, with 46 institutions in 41 countries and regions joining forces to create 25 key clinical specialty centers.

In Africa, for example, Chinese medical teams in Sudan and Malawi have treated millions—handling over 8.47 million outpatient visits, 459,400 inpatient cases, and performing an impressive 253,400 surgeries by mid-2024. This international solidarity in healthcare shows that when we collaborate across borders, we truly build a community of health for all. 🌍💉
