Expert: U.S.-Led Order Faces Collapse Amid Global Debate

In a surprising discussion on CGTN's Talking China live-stream, expert Li Cheng from the University of Hong Kong declared that the so-called U.S.-led liberal international order has already collapsed. He pointed to policies like former President Donald Trump's America First approach and noted that recent transatlantic tensions—highlighted by harsh critiques of Europe—have accelerated this shift.

Li Cheng explained, "Sometimes it is truly astonishing to see how quickly U.S.-led allies now speak about the possible collapse of NATO and transatlantic relations." He described our current moment as a critical juncture marked by rapid change and uncertainty. 🤯

Importantly, Li stressed that this transformation is not a result of any actions by China. He emphasized that China remains committed to a UN-led, rules-based international order and strongly backs economic globalization that benefits nations worldwide.

During the debate, Liu Zhiqin of Renmin University also remarked that China has never aimed to change the global order, urging a balanced approach against unilateral hegemonism. The conversation reflects a pivotal moment in global politics, inviting everyone to stay informed as international alliances and strategies evolve.
