NPC Deputy Zhao Zhao Champions Youth in Rural Revamp

In an inspiring message for young changemakers, NPC deputy Zhao Zhao emphasized that rural areas and agriculture are ripe with opportunities. During the third session of the 14th NPC, Zhao Zhao, who is also the general manager of Nanyang Yamin Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., shared her personal journey and vision for a vibrant, modern countryside.

Born in 1984, Zhao Zhao made a bold move in 2008 when she left her city job to return to her hometown in Nanyang City in central the Chinese mainland. Beginning with just 50 cattle, her determination and innovative spirit have now grown her enterprise to managing a herd of over 4,000 cattle. Her decision was far from impulsive – instead, it was driven by the observable gap between urban environments and the untapped potential of rural communities.

Using relatable language and a passion that resonates with a youthful audience, Zhao Zhao stressed that college-educated youth should not abandon their hometowns. Instead, they should return to transform the challenges into opportunities. "Our generation's goal should be to turn underdeveloped hometowns into model communities," she remarked, indicating the immense need for fresh talent in agriculture and rural revitalization.

Her journey from remote mountains to the revered halls of the Great Hall of the People serves as a testament to the limitless possibilities awaiting those who dare to dream big. Zhao Zhao's sincere commitment is making the countryside not only more beautiful but also an industry where agriculture becomes a respected and thriving profession.

The deputy's call to action carries a powerful message: rural areas are not relics of the past but can be the foundation for a modern, sustainable future. With young innovators leading the charge, agriculture can transform into a dynamic field that embraces both tradition and innovation 🌱🚀.
