The Sanjiangyuan National Park in northwest China's Qinghai Province, known as the "Water Tower of China," is thriving with enhanced biodiversity, ecological stability, and sustainability. This success is attributed to the relentless dedication of over 21,000 ecological rangers, said Lian Yuming, chief expert of the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration and a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
During the Members' Corridor of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Lian highlighted that the park is home to over 3,000 alpine wild plant species and 310 alpine wild animal species. With more than 110,000 ethnic Zang people residing in the region, the ecological rangers ensure the land is protected day and night.
This harmonious balance between people and nature not only preserves the region's rich biodiversity but also sustains its vital role as China's crucial water source.
