🎉 China's Wheelchair Curling Team Shines at World Championship!
The Chinese wheelchair curling team has secured their spot at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo! 🏂❄️ They achieved this fantastic milestone by advancing to the playoff stage at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Stevenston, Scotland this week.
Out of 11 games in the round-robin stage, China dominated by winning 9, topping all 12 participating teams. The other teams that made it to the knockout round include South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Canada, and Slovakia.
In a nail-biting semifinal on Friday, China triumphed over Canada with a close score of 5-4, setting the stage for an exciting final against South Korea. 🥌🏆
Wheelchair curling made its debut at the Winter Paralympics in 2006 in Turin, Italy. Since then, China has been a powerhouse, claiming the gold medals in 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea, and 2022 at home in Beijing.
