In a powerful message on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of unity and development among Global South countries.
Wang Yi highlighted that "the dynamism of the sweeping winds and surging clouds in the world today originates from the south. The hallmark of our era is the prominent, growing strength of the Global South," stressing that these nations hold over 40 percent of the global economy and contribute 80 percent to world economic growth.
According to Wang, the Global South is a key force in maintaining international peace, driving global development, and improving governance. He added, "The Global South holds the key to bringing stability to the world and making it a better place."
Wang called on these countries to form a united voice in the international arena, safeguard common interests, and enhance their representation in global governance.
He further stated, "We should insist on placing development at the center of the international agenda, cultivate development momentum, enhance development capacity and walk hand in hand on the road to modernization."
Reaffirming China's commitment, Wang concluded, "No matter how the international landscape evolves, China will always keep the Global South in our heart and maintain our roots in the Global South." 🌟
