Unitree’s G1 Robot Tours CGTN Office: A Glimpse into the Future of Robotics 🤖

Exciting times at CGTN! A special guest recently visited the office – the G1 humanoid robot from Unitree Robotics, based in Hangzhou, east China. If you caught the CMG Spring Festival Gala, you might remember the H1 model that stole the show with its incredible dance moves. Now, the G1 is here to impress even more!

Standing at approximately 1.3 meters tall and weighing 35 kilograms, the G1 is a smaller and lighter version compared to the H1, which stands about 1.8 meters and weighs nearly 50 kilograms. Equipped with 23 to 43 joint electrodes, the G1 offers enhanced flexibility, allowing it to learn dance routines and even perform simple welding tasks with its mechanical arms. 🕺🔧

Jin Da, the marketing manager at Unitree Robotics, shared his excitement about the advancements in robotics. "The development of large models like China's DeepSeek provides a solid foundation for robots. This includes improvements in computational power and applications in various other areas," he explained.

This innovation aligns perfectly with the focus at this year's Two Sessions, which highlighted the importance of new quality productive forces—a concept that emphasizes integrating technological innovation with industrial upgrading.

Looking ahead, Jin believes that humanoid robots will initially find their place in large-scale environments like factories before making their way into our homes within the next decade, if not sooner. "The more attention humanoid robots receive, the more talent and companies will get involved, leading to further innovation and expansion. It's a positive cycle," he added.
