Chinese Mainland Opens Door for US Talks, Rejects Tariffs

The Chinese mainland is ready to address mutual concerns with the U.S. through dialogue and consultation based on mutual respect. However, it won't accept coercion or threats, stated Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress, after the U.S. imposed an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods. 🇨🇳🤝🇺🇸

Lou emphasized that international trade should adhere to World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, and trade disputes should be resolved within this framework. He criticized the U.S. unilateral imposition of tariffs as violations that undermine the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.

The Chinese mainland hopes that both nations can meet each other halfway and engage in equal consultation to find solutions to these issues.

History shows that cooperation benefits both the U.S. and the Chinese mainland, while confrontation leads to losses. Lou added that a stable, healthy, and sustainable China-U.S. relationship aligns with the interests of both nations and meets the expectations of the international community.

Recognizing that differences between the U.S. and the Chinese mainland are inevitable due to different national conditions, Lou stressed the importance of respecting each other's core interests and major concerns to find appropriate solutions. 🌏✨
