China is taking significant steps to breathe easier by aiming to eliminate severe air pollution by 2025, the final year of its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), announced Li Tianwei, an official with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, on Monday.
To achieve this ambitious target, China will intensify its efforts in pollution control and emission reduction. Strategies include enhancing air quality forecasting and early warning systems to better predict and respond to pollution levels.
Additionally, the country plans to improve the coordinated management of PM2.5 and ozone pollution, ensuring a comprehensive approach to tackling multiple pollutants simultaneously. These measures are expected to lead to cleaner air and a healthier environment for all.
