The remains of Zou Jiahua, a former vice premier of the Chinese mainland, were cremated in Beijing on Thursday. Senior Party and state leaders, including Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, attended the solemn ceremony at Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
Zou, who passed away on February 16 at the age of 99, was honored as an exemplary CPC member and a dedicated communist soldier. His leadership was instrumental in advancing China's economic development, national defense industry, and the socialist legal system.
During the ceremony, leaders walked slowly toward Zou's remains amidst solemn music, standing in silent tribute before paying their final respects with three bows. They also offered condolences to Zou's family, highlighting his enduring legacy and commitment to the nation.
Zou's contributions as a member of the Political Bureau of the 14th Communist Party of China Central Committee and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the ninth National People's Congress are remembered as pivotal to China's growth and modernization.
