The Harbin Asian Winter Games have been hailed as a new benchmark for major multi-sport events in Asia by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) officials.
Husain Al Musallam, OCA director general, praised the success of the Games, highlighting the enthusiastic participation of over 1,200 athletes from 34 countries and regions. This marks the highest turnout in the event's history, with Saudi Arabia and Cambodia making their Winter Asiad debuts!
Al Musallam also commended Harbin's impressive organization, noting that the city managed to host such a large-scale event in just 18 months with top-notch facilities and attention to every detail.
Timothy Fok, OCA first vice president, emphasized the exceptional medical services in Harbin, stating they've never seen such advanced technology at past Asian Games.
During China's eight-day Spring Festival, Harbin welcomed over 12 million visitors, a 20.4% increase from last year.
Harbin showcased its hospitality with amenities like free mobile charging stations, ginger tea, and hot water services across all venues.
Looking ahead, Harbin plans to utilize the Games' legacy by adopting flexible management models and enhancing digital services. The city also aims to host more sports events in tourist resorts and commercial areas, expanding the reach of winter sports.
