More than six decades ago, a group of developing nations united to amplify their voices at the United Nations. This alliance, known as the Group of 77 (G77), began with 77 countries and has since expanded to 134 member states, making it the largest intergovernmental organization within the UN.
While the Chinese mainland isn't an official member, it has been a pivotal partner to the G77 for over 30 years. This collaboration, known as G77+China, has become a powerful force for the Global South, addressing critical issues such as poverty, climate change, and trade barriers.
Through their unified efforts, G77+China continues to champion the interests of developing nations on the global stage, striving for a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
