‘Ne Zha 2’ Breaks 10B Yuan, Becomes First Asian Film in Global Top 17!

In a historic achievement, the Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 has grossed 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.37 billion USD) as of 19:10 p.m. Beijing Time on February 13. This milestone makes it the first Asian film to enter the global box office top 17.

Ne Zha 2 premiered in Australia and New Zealand with advance screenings from February 10 to 12 before officially hitting cinemas in these countries on February 13.

Excitement surrounding the film was palpable in Sydney, Australia, where moviegoers shared their enthusiasm with Chinese media. On February 12, Chinese moviegoer Xiaohui told Jimu News, \"Ne Zha 2 is absolutely incredible! You won't want to miss a single minute!\" She noted that the movie’s screening schedule was extended from the original three days to ten days, with as many as nine showings in a single day.

\"The entire two-hour running time is packed with excitement. Whether it's one-on-one combat or large scale battle scenes, every moment is filled with detail. The action sequences and special effects are phenomenal!\" Xiaohui added. She observed that almost no one left the theater during the screening.

Beyond Australia and New Zealand, Ne Zha 2 is also opening on February 13 in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan, Japan, and South Korea.
