🌐 In a recent press briefing, China's Foreign Ministry called on the United States and Japan to stop interfering in its internal affairs and manipulating issues related to China.
During the briefing, spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed questions about a joint statement released by US and Japanese defense ministers discussing the Taiwan question in late March.
Guo criticized the joint statement for making \"irresponsible remarks\" about Taiwan and interfering in China's internal matters. He added that China has lodged stern representations with both countries, expressing strong dissatisfaction.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Taiwan question is \"purely China's internal affairs\" and a core interest that allows no foreign interference.
Guo also highlighted that both the US and Japanese governments have committed to respecting China's stance on Taiwan. He reminded Japan of its historical responsibilities related to aggression against Taiwan and colonial rule, urging more prudent actions on Taiwan-related matters.
\"We urge the U.S. and Japan to abide by the one-China principle and honor their commitments, and stop manipulating China-related issues,\" Guo stated. 🗣️
