200 Evacuated After Tragic Landslide Hits Sichuan’s Jinping Village 🌧️

😟 A devastating landslide struck Jinping Village in Junlian County, Yibin City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Saturday morning at 11:50 a.m., forcing approximately 200 residents to evacuate to safety.

The disaster buried 10 houses and left over 30 people missing, triggering an immediate Level I geological disaster emergency response—the highest alert level—in the province by 3:30 p.m.

🚒 Emergency rescue teams, firefighters, public security, transportation, medical personnel, and other vital services swiftly mobilized to the scene to conduct search and rescue operations. Two individuals were successfully rescued in the afternoon.

💰 In response to the tragedy, the National Development and Reform Commission has allocated 50 million yuan ($6.97 million) to support disaster relief and recovery efforts. This funding will be used to restore infrastructure and public facilities in the affected areas.

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management have earmarked 30 million yuan to aid Sichuan in organizing and executing rescue and relief operations.
