In a strong statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, has voiced sharp criticism against U.S. President Donald Trump's recent proposal to take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians.
Baghaei described the plan as \"astonishing and in line with Israel's targeted plan to completely eliminate the Palestinian nation.\" He emphasized that the idea of the U.S. owning the Gaza Strip is an \"unprecedented violation against all the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations (UN) Charter.\"
Expressing deep concern, Baghaei called for the international community and the UN to firmly reject and condemn the U.S. strategy. He stressed the importance of restoring the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and freeing them from occupation.
This condemnation comes just a day after President Trump, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announced the controversial plan during a joint press conference. The proposal has sparked debates and raised alarms about the future of peace and stability in the region.
