Chinese Speed Skating Brothers Aim for Gold at Asian Winter Games 🥇⛸️

Get ready, speed skating fans! Chinese short track speed skating brothers Liu Shaolin and Liu Shaoang are gearing up to make waves at the upcoming ninth Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. 🏂❄️

In a recent episode of CGTN Sports Scene's Talk Sports series, hosted by Mike Fox, the dynamic duo shared insights into their stellar performance last season and what they’re aiming for in the Games.

December 8, 2024, was a golden day for the brothers, as they played a key role in clinching the men's 5,000-meter relay gold medal at the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Tour in Beijing. On the same day, Liu Shaoang teamed up with Fan Kexin, Gong Li, and Sun Long to secure the mixed relay title from the tournament. 🥇🏆

\"It was a really good season. It started a little bit rough. It's not how we imagined it's going to be, but the home competition in Beijing, it was really nice and it was really successful,\" shared Liu Shaolin.

Liu Shaoang added, \"I think the overall performance is pretty good. There's always ups and downs in this sport. So, if you know the sport, it's like always difficult to be on the top. So, I think that's a normal thing to have some ups and downs in the season.\"

Looking ahead, the brothers are laser-focused on topping the podium at the Asian Winter Games. With a busy season that includes the Asian Games and a test event for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan, Liu Shaolin emphasized their dedication: \"It's going to be really big competition. So, it's a really busy season, but we like to be busy. We like to work hard and fight for the gold medals.\"
