Shanxi’s 2024 Record-Breaking Coal-Bed Methane Boom Powers Clean Energy Future

North China's Shanxi Province is lighting up the future with a record-breaking production of coal-bed methane (CBM) in 2024! 🌟

Shanxi achieved an astounding CBM output of 13.4 billion cubic meters this year, marking an 18.9% increase from last year, according to the provincial statistics bureau.

CBM, once considered a hazardous byproduct causing fatalities in coal mines, is now a superstar in the clean energy scene. 🌱✨ Thanks to cutting-edge technology, Shanxi is turning this unconventional natural gas into a stable and eco-friendly energy source.

Instead of polluting the environment, CBM is being harnessed on a large scale across the province. This not only contributes to cleaner energy but also enhances safety by reducing gas explosion accidents in coal mines. Safety and sustainability for the win! 🏆

Mao Xiaowen, deputy director of the Shanxi energy bureau, shared exciting plans: \"In the next stage, Shanxi will take multiple measures to boost CBM storage and production and vigorously promote CBM development.\"

Did you know? Shanxi sits on a treasure trove of CBM resources, boasting about 8.31 trillion cubic meters of proven reserves underground (within a depth of 2,000 meters). That's nearly one-third of China's total CBM reserves! 😮

In 2024, Shanxi's CBM output made up a whopping 80.6% of China's total, as revealed by the provincial energy bureau. Talk about leading the way!

Last year, the province also produced 1.27 billion tonnes of raw coal, accounting for around 26.7% of the national output, according to the provincial statistics bureau.

Shanxi's strides in clean energy not only propel China towards a sustainable future but also inspire global efforts in embracing eco-friendly resources. 🌍💚

Stay tuned as Shanxi continues to innovate and pave the way for greener energy solutions!
